Be adamant about that otherwise you are going to report them as a bad garage. Their fault for sending out a vehicle in worse condition than when it came in. They know it.
OEM or other, they messed up. And yes it is as simple as putting in a set of brake pads. Rotors do not need to be turned.
You wouldn't be having any problems if the dealer of the car did the job. They would have used factory OEM (original equipment manufacturers) brake parts. There is allot more to doing a brake job than sticking new pads in.
Sound like they didn't put the shims back in or maybe didn't use some copper slip when they did.
Yes, it takes a couple of days for the new pads to seat...
If it does not improve quickly as they bed in then you need to take it back for inspection
In the UK we rarely if ever turn down the brake discs (rotors to yanks)
The pad will not be able to be fitted backwards
There should be no scraping noise at all. Either they fitted crap pads or they assembled it incorrectly.
There should not be noise. When the pads were replaced, the rotors should be turned down ore replaced.
It may take time for new pads to fit themselves to the rotors but in that time they don't make noise. Take it back my guess is that they mounted one of the pads backwards.
So the other day I had my car brake pads changed at the garage and since everytime I brake I get a very load scraping noise coming from the brakes, have they screwed up or is this just temp while they get worn in?
