Look for shiny stripe on tire inner sidewall, that would indicate that it's rubbing on something. Other than that, both previous posts good places to look.
Open the hood and look inside there. There are plenty of rubber hoses so maybe one is touching hot metal and melting.?
I bet you have a small oil leak somewhere and it drips on the hot exhaust.....
So I bought my car(94 corolla) a few months ago. When I was looking at it the driver side front tire had a brake pad had to be replaced and something else, I just cant remember. But on the receipt it said there was still a torn boot. I got the car and I'd notice after I drove it I'd get out and I'd get a smell of burning rubber. Not super strong, just like a whiff. And yes it was from the tire. I eventually got the cv joint replaced(mechanic told me its better than replacing the torn boot) and I thought it would stop the smell, but still after I drive around I will smell it when I get out of my car. And its only that tire. What could it mean?? They didnt tell me anything at the mechanic shop, and I got my tires rotated and they didn't tell me anything either.
