IF the cable is damaged, broken or frayed, wd40 will not help. You should make sure too that the cable is properly, adjusted and routed. Sometimes , a twist grip can be fouled ,a return spring broken , or some part out of place . Make sure that it is not something at either end of the cable that is in fact "sticking" . Good luck.
Make sure the throttle sleeve and housing on the bars has not slipped inward causing the hand grip to bind on the end of the handle bars .
Loosen the screws and move it out a 1/4" and retighten it .
could be rust forming inside your cable liquid teflon ive used a product called "dri-slide" a new cable might be in your near future your welcome (in advance)
Can you give us more info?
I've tried to wd-40 the protector box and the clip that connects to the carburetor. But the throttle still sticks. Any tips/advice?
