If you need a linear servo, there are companies that make dc powered linear actuators (even with RC servo control) (source), or you might make one out of a screw type garage door opener. The chain or belt drive garage door openers could make a nice servo as well, if you can find one with a dc motor. You would need a pot that could track the motion, servo electronics (maybe from an old RC servo), and a heavy duty H bridge to control the motor.
very confusing stuff check out on bing and yahoo that could actually help
No
I've tried the Torxis servos and Hi-tec HS-1000sgt looks like it won't handle 90lbs. Industrial AC servos with drivers seem complicated and expensive. Are there any other high torque servos that can be controlled by an arduino and handle 90 lbs?
Thanks
