Is my clutch going?

hebax2006 is right on the money. Since it releases with less movement we know the geometry of the clutch has changed, and loss of material fits the bill. In any case, new clutch. If the hydraulics were responsible it would almost certainly release nearer to the floor.

I'll bet you blew the clutch material off of one side of the clutch disc! Easy way to tell if the clutch is bad/slipping. Put the clutch pedal down and put the tranny in 3rd or 4th gear. Rev the motor to 3,000 rpm and drop the clutch. If the motor stalls the clutch is grabbing. If the motor rpms just drop slowly and the car barely moves the clutch is toast. I wouldn't buy a heavy duty clutch. It will wear your leg out in traffic!

a clutch disc might be broken after burnout i suggest you take your car to the nearest workshop

Check the clutch fluid. Check the clutch slave cylinder for leaks.

When the clutch allows the engine RPM to increase without the car moving any faster is a sign that the pressure plate and clutch disc needs to be replaced.

You broke it. Get it fixed.

I have a 99 cobra. I always treated my car with respect never beat on it. So I decided yesterday to play with it a bit. I did a very small burnout and dumped the clutch once. And now my clutch feels funny. Little harder to push in and before it let go right at the bottom when u gave it gas now it lets go right at the top, and feels like its grabbing the gears slower. Idk is there anything wrong with it
