Is driving low on fuel all the time bad?

If you have an in tank fuel pump, (you probably do) having less than ~ half tank of gas can cause the fuel pump to run hot. It uses the gasoline in the tank to cool itself and sometimes as a lubricant. Try to keep it above a half tank. For the cts, I have no idea but it shouldn't fail more than once like it has been doing

There's no significant difference between Shell and Chevron. Both are top grade fuels with all the funny little additives needed. Use the grade recommended for your car and whichever is cheaper at the time.

I'm skeptical that the temp sensor has gone bad that many times. It's time to do a deeper diagnosis with a different tool. Could be bad wiring or something.

Unless they redesigned the fuel pumps, supposedly running a tank low all the time can ruin your fuel pump. I think running it down to a 1/4 of a tank is probably ok, but it's a good idea to top it off when it reaches a half a tank. In this world, you never know what's going to happen, & the more people that have fuel in their tanks, the less wait times for the idiots who were unprepared. For ex, that Yellowstone Caldera could blow at any time or that nutcase in North Korea might think he's playing a video game & of course there's always that freak asteroid coming from the direction of the sun that we can't see, & it wouldn't matter if we could. Nothing we can do about it.

I've never heard of driving with low fuel causing a coolant temp sensor to go out, that sounds like a wiring problem. But I do know that constantly driving with a low fuel level could cause your fuel pump to go out as it has to work harder when the fuel is low, and that can be a very pricy fix, especially if it's an electric pump located directly inside the fuel tank.

I always drive my Mustang 2002 below half tank and a lot of other times under 1/4. Also my service engine light has being coming up numerous times for the past year...i've taking it to a shop like 4 times and they always say its the coolant temp sensor, they already replaced it a few time but idk how it could fail all those times..could my bad driving habits of always having low fuel on my tank be the cause of the Service Engine Soon light to come on?? I usually use Shell fuel, but im planning on using Chevron from now on since i heard its better. I use 87 octane.
