Replace the fuel pump and fan belt (the screeching) or get a new car! Cheap fixes, just a pain for the mechanic.

could be an ignition coil for the acceleration and wet conditions. the screeching might be a belt

97 honda civic lx. just put new pregap sparks plug. its was running fine a day later the car runs like it was ready to install. but never die . accelaration is great. only whgen i stop. what do you think is the problem? change gas filterz? tks

Check your muffler bearings.

Get new tires.
