How to tell if my car has a remote starter?

Posted at: 2015-01-07
My mom has the same car with remote start. To start it you click the lock button twice and the car will beep a few times then you press and hold the circle button with an arrow until the car starts. If it doesent work it's possible they just gave you a remote with the button but the car itself does not feature it.

Give your local dealer a call and ask for the service department. Ask them if you vehicle came equipped with a factory remote start. Then ask them the programming procedures to sync it with the remote and how to operate the remote start function from the remote.

If you ever need to order a replacement remote for this car or any other car, we have factory oem remotes for up to 80% off dealer prices.

Contact GM customer service with your VIN . There will be records of what the car was equipped with .

In July, I bought a 2006 Chevy Malibu LT. The keyless entry remote has a thing on it stating how to remote start the car, but when I try it nothing happens. The sale listing at the dealership didn't say anything about the car being equipped with one, so I'm wondering if all the clickers just come with instructions in case you add the starter? Or is it possible that it's already installed but there's something wrong with it? My clicker isn't the greatest; I often have to press the lock/unlock buttons multiple times before they work.
