too much layer of paint will cause an orange peel affect, your gonna have to lightly sand it back down without using a primer coat, make sure the crack/split marks have been erased ,wipe the body area over with sum thinners to clean any contaminated grease marks. lightly dust coat each layer with a metalic black spray paint, make sure that the area your painting is in the heat of the sun light. black is an awkward color to match by the way...
Hi also you can't spray modern paints outside it needs to be done in the spray booth a temperature and humidity controlled zone where dust is kept to an absolute minimum. as the booth has filtered air pressure which means nothing gets in. so now you know why you need to get it done by a body shop..
Needs to be taken back to the base coat and done properly, there's no easy cheap fix I'm afraid.
Take it to Earl Schieb, you'll NEVER match that paint with a poof can. Has to be clean, DRY, and warm. That's what spray-booths are for.
It's my black passat it's not faded natural it was due to a damaged panel being primered and basecoated and alot of the dust went on the back on my car even through I masked it. I used this oops remover to get some of the primer marks and dust from the area but it seemed to fade the area quite bad. I've also got to redo the panel because the paint bubbled and has weird little cracks in it. I think this happened due to rain settling in the basecoat and clearcoat overnight. How can I fix this? and any tips for the repspray?
