This is old fashion but usually works, run faster.
Some people find that running with resistance helps - like basketball players that throw what is called a "medicine ball", a basket ball filled with extra weight. I used to play ice hockey and used a tire and rope strapped to my waist to provide resistance when I skated (you have another person sit in the tire). Besides having fun it makes you a little faster when there is no resistance and builds endurance.
