How to get into engineering?

Being good at math at science is only half the the work required to get into engineering. The other half is curiosity and passion. You need to have a real interest in this field, because let's face it engineering is a technical field and is very dry. Wonder why there aren't many people in these fields? To tough out the dryness, you need to be interested in your work, whatever it may be.

Otherwise, the requirements are basically your math and science courses. Take all math/science every year until there's no more for you to take. Be interested in what engineering can offer you, how the career life is like. Do some research by Googling or searching on YouTube.

Preparation Tips

Students who are interested in pursuing a degree in engineering can prepare for the application process as early as middle school. By selecting a variety of science, mathematics, and engineering-related course work and participating in programs and projects that expose students to engineering concepts, students will have advanced exposure to university level work.

Pre-university Course Selection

While in middle and high school, students interested in engineering should consider taking accelerated courses in several of the following subjects.

Algebra II

Biology

Calculus

Chemistry

Computer Science

Language Arts

Precalculus

Physics

Second Language

Trigonometry

Practice, practice and practice your skills. You have to analyze and think in Engineering. You also have to be very good in designing, particularly in your interests, you can get in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Those classes will help you, for sure.

Work hard and get into SAT examination program.

Hello my name is john, I am 15 years old, freshman. I am currently attending Juan Seguin High school in arlington tx.

The question i'm asking is, what can I do to get into engineering career?

I am currently taking introduction engineering design, CAD program stuff.

Would that class help prepare/get me into engineering.

And if I were to go to college what should I do so that I could into engineering.

I prefer mechanical like automobiles, and archectecurial engineering.

And yes, I do know you have to be very good at math and science, which I am pretty good at.
