The paint code is not in your VIN. It may be found on a data plate or build codes sticker somewhere under the hood or in the glove box. Pretty much any auto body shop can find it for you.

There is a metal tag under the hood which has some strange numbers and letters on it you will need to Google the model + paint codes to get the info on which number it is. The VIN is of no use.

Since we don't know what you're driving, look it up yourself here http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ Follow the directions on the site.

Inside the driver's side door is a white sticker. Look at color name.

So some guy backed into my car with his pickup, and the hitch on it left a 9-10 huge scratches. I tried looking on the sticker(supposed to be in my trunk), but there wasn't a paint code. Is there a way to tell what it is through your VIN?
