You might be able to tell the dead silkworms by motion sensors where the PIR detector is focused on the insect and illuminated so any movement is detected as live, and no motion in 2 minutes is considered dead. Or possibly by sensitive microphones, where sound of the silkworm eating mulberry leaves is good, no sound is bad.
No need to use any system. You can easily find a no. of dead insects lying around you.
