How to convert limited slip to posi?

My 1980 z28 doesn't have posi and I would like it too, how do I go about making it a posi and for about how much?

Need to change the ring-gear carrier housing. Try J.C. Whitney, Jegs, Summit, any on-line speed parts store. Around $800 aftermarket. 10 bolt cover? GM did put out a 10 bolt "clutch posi", but more prevalent in 12 bolt. Can start searching boneyards, maybe $200 from there, plus whatever parts to make it right.(Bearings, seals, etc.)

Posi-Track is a shortened generic term for the GM-branded name "Positraction." It is a type of limited slip differential. You already have it.

limited slip is posi traction.. GM coined the term decades ago for the same thing.. every manufacturer has a different name for the same thing. if your car doesnt have posi traction then you have an open or standad carrier rear end these are the most everyday forgiving ones with a LSD the tires only spin so much till the both want to engage so going around tight corners will cause uneven tire wear . now if you plan on drag racing a good choice would automatic lockers ones like Powertrax make they function like open during normal driving but once you apply a lot of torque they lock now these are really squirrely since they are automatic and take time to learn how and when they lock since it is all on their own. if you dont like that then air lockers might be a choice but to add posi to your car would cost 4-600 bucks for the unit and a few hours or less putting it in..
