But if you are not this way you can still be one. You just have to be willing to totally work your tail off for the 4 to 6 years of university it takes to get your bachelors. You also have to be good at math. You need at least B grades in algebra, calculus and trig.
Simple, if you can fulfill the following two requirements :-
1- Deep interest and devotion.
2- Follow an extensive program at an accredited educational institute that can award you a degree in engineering.
Get an engineering degree at an accredited university.
Take lots of math, enjoy taking things apart, and take a lot of science classes (chemistry or physics depending on specific engineering field). Don't slack off. The last one being the most important
