In theory, starting with a clean new engine, synthetic oil would never ever need to be changed, only the oil filter. Thusly, a 12,000 or 12 months is very realistic IF the car has used synthetic oil since new. In practical terms most of us do not need synthetic oil for our needs. I prefer synthetic blend. It is much cheaper, it has the same characteristics of synthetic, and I have the cars serviced every six months with the changing season. Many years ago an oil company had an advertisement that a fleet of cars that used their oil for six months or so, got the old oil tested. It was still functional and serviceable. That was on a taxi that runs 10X the miles than we may do.
We need to know the year make and model of the car. If the car has *under 60,000 miles on the odometer do not exceed the manufactures oil change schedule in the glove compartment manual to keep the power-train warranty in effect.
It depends on the Brand, quality, and filter. I would advise you to research the brand, quality and filter. AMSOIL 100% Synthetic for example can go 25,000 miles on the same oil and filter.
Completely depends on the vehichle. The general guidelines given by a lot of new dealers is 5k for some miles and up to 7k for others. I would say if it is not a new vehicle I would do it every 5k
Completely depends on HOW you drive. Nobody can give you a pat answer without knowing that. Read this post on oil change intervals

Depends on the vehicle, could be over 20,000miles on some modern cars if on the long life servicing schedule.
