normal conditions are basically driving on the free way all the time doing very little stop and go driving or short trips. usually a 5000-7500 mile range for changing out oil using quality oil and filter.
sever driving is doing in town driving doing alot of stop and go traffic driving.also making short trips and driving the car while it isnt warmed up is considered severe driving. this type of driving you should basically change your oil twice as much to help keep your car protected.
There's all sorts of claims floating around about this or that intervol being good or whatever. I don't really drive all that much anymore, & also use Mobil 1, so I just do it twice a year. Also, IF for some reason the engineoil gets low, more then 1/2 a quart, That will also prompt an oil change.
The answer is simple, but long.
I think all oil filters are rated for 5k miles. An mobil1 oil is rated at 5k.
I use autoxone brands which r rated for 3k.
Regardless, the more often you change your oil, the less your engine will wear.
Brand new car? Change it at 5k every time and get hella life from your rings/Pistons/block and **** life for your oil pump. Or change it ever 7500 and get worse life for your block and Pistons, but more life from oil pump.
Honestly, I've got 275k and I change it when the damn oil and filter tell me too. Are you joking?
Your oil and filter say they'll protect your engine for 5k miles. So after 5k miles, change them.
If you drive 160 mph, you will be in jail before the first change is due, so don't worry about it.

This is a simple question for most and I'm pretty familiar with cars but I had a concern that I'm not sure about. I normally change my oil about every 7500 miles or so for most of my cars since I use Mobil 1 and the quality oil filters. I was wondering (since I just bought my srt charger) how much my driving conditions would effect the oil change intervals. I normally keep it around the 160mph range on the highway so should I be changing the oil every 3000 miles since I drive it like that? 4000? 5000? Thank you in advance.
