Any engineering discipline is academically intensive, especially in the sciences and higher maths. If you didn't score A's with ease in calculus and physics and chemistry in high school, you will be worked mentally to a new level you can't imagine.

Petroleum is pretty similar to chemical overall, but there are few colleges that have petroleum engineering majors.

No engineering study is easy.
