there are many ways:
- generator (AC or DC, does not matter, dynamo is same category)
- using friction one can get static charge
- use friction to produce light then use photovoltaic cells (not efficient but in principle doable)
- use friction to produce heat and the use thermocouple
etc
you need a generator or alternator, which rotary mechanical energy to electrical energy. There is one in ever automobile.
