Smooth the lenses with extra fine steel wool, then polish them with Brasso metal polish. They will come back clear as water. If you don't feel like going the cheap way, use the $20 3M kit. Either way you'll spend about 1/2 hour in the driveway.

If you're getting aftermarket lights, apply silicone around the perimeter, where the clear plastic meets the black plastic. Aftermarket lights always leak here because of poor quality. Water gets in when it rains and they get foggy inside.

Ask the body shop to try wet sanding the lenses with 600 grit then polishing them with a rotary buffer and rubbing compound...That is,if the lenses are plastic, not glass.

i have a 97 buick lesabre and the headlights are all faded and rough ! i took it to a body shop and they said the headlights were left go too long to bring back to life again ! the body shop man said he could get me a new set for $120.00 each, is that reasonable ? once i install the headlights do i have to get them adjusted or not ? i tried one of those restoration kits but nothing wants to smooth them out and clear them up ! thanks guys !
