head gaskets are expensive to fix correctly.. since they are aware of the issue it has been happening for sometime now and the engine way be beyond any reasonable repair
Look for a different car. You do know Saturn has been out of business since 2010.
Look for a different car. A leaky head gasket could turn into a cracked head or a head which has pitted and needs to be milled or the block pitted and needs milling or a cylinder that's been damaged by the leak. There's just no way of telling what bag of worms you'll get until you tear it apart. It isn't worth chancing.
Im thinking about buying a 1996 Saturn SL1 for around $1000.....there could possibly be a leak in the head gasket and I'm wondering if the head gasket would be difficult to replace or is it worth spending the money to fix or should I just look for a different car
