Find the current in the circuit?

This is a very simple circuit.

First get the total resistance.

the two in parallel are equivalent to 47?75/(47+75) = 28.9

that adds to the series resistor for a total of 128.9

so total current is I = E/R = 5/128.9 = 0.0388 amp or 38.8 mA

1st step, Solve the parallel resistor

2nd, Solve the series resistor

100+28.89 = R

3rd, by ohms Law

V=IR

I=V/R

I=5/128.89

I =0.03879 or 38.79 mA

47Ω is parallel to 75 Ω

So 47*75 / 47+75 = 3525 / 122 = 28.9 Ω

And 28.9 Ω is series with 100 Ω

So (28.9 + 100)Ω = 128.9 Ω

And V = 5V R = 128.9Ω

V=IR = I = V/R

5/128.9 = 0.038 A = 38.78 mA

38.792 mA OR 0.038792 A

the two in parallel are equivalent to 47?75/(47+75) = 28.89

that adds to the series resistor for a total of 128.89

so total current is I = V/R = 5/128.89 = 0.038792 amp or 38.792 mA

determine the current in the circuit shown below

5v 47 ohms 75ohms 100 ohms
