Faulty car repairs, can I use insurance or sue??

If it ran fine for 3-6 months (?) you can't possibly prove there were "faulty repairs". Also any accident that damages the engine is not a small accident.

Insurance NO, if you can prove the mechanic was negligent and his negligence caused the problem, you can sue the mechanic. Keep in mind this will be hard to prove and you will need a qualified expert to testify. Warranty has nothing to do with it. It is the statue of limitations for property damage that controls.

Sorry - some confusion here b4 we can answer accurately: "replaced my intake valve" (singular???? most cars have 4, 8, or 16 intake valves . . . . can't think of an accident scenario that would require changing an intake valve), "causing my engine to drop onto the excel" (what, the engine fell out? what's an "excell"?).

If you have proof they replaced something incorrectly that caused the damage then the garage that did the work repairs the vehicle at no cost. Insurance will not touch it as it does not cover things like that.

Sorry pal, a small accident doesn't touch the valves. On the other-hand $6,000 is no small accident. If at all possible make up your mind!

Yes, sue them because of an intake valve that had nothing to do with an accident. First, go hire a lawyer.

Hello

You cannot claim on the insurance. And after 3-6 Months?????????????????? I doubt you will get anything towards the repairs

If your insurance arranged the repairs then it is up to them to sort it out. If you arranged them and paid for them and they reimbursed you then your argument is with the mechanic who did the work.

Here in the UK repairs are warrantied for up to 3 years from the time they did them.

Your out of luck. Repairs are only warrantied for thirty days. Anyway anything dropped into excel is the owners fault.

Hi so I was in a small car accident earlier this year they did some minor repairs for around 6G.

3-6 months later smoke starts coming out of my car apparently they replaced my intake valve and some other stuff incorrectly causing my engine to drop onto the excel. The repairs will cost me another $2100.

Is it possible to claim insurance or sue the mechanics over damages. I don't think I can claim insurance since they inspected the car and gave me the money to use however I wanted.
