Perhaps if you told us the year, make, model, and engine we could help more. Every vehicle is known for its own quirks. Without knowing, all you get is wild guesses. For example, read these about GM and Ford coolant lights. Never assume that all cars are alike

Could be your radiator or that you just need a flush. You shouldn't ignore it. A mechanic's shop should be able to run a diagnostics test and determine the problem.

My coolant light came on this morning every once in awhile and i would check the coolant tank under the hood and there was plenty of liquid in there so i checked the temp gauge in my car and it doesnt go above barely halfway? My check engine light came on for about 10 mins later in the day without the coolant light now though? Any ideas on whats going on???
