Does power engineering hold a good futue?

I have worked in power engineering my entire career (30+ years!) as a chemical engineer. I like it because I feel like I make a difference. People will always need power, the electric utility industry employs thousands of EEs all across the country. And you can also work for suppliers of electrical equipment, they are continuously improving their gear as technology progresses. If you love Power Engineering, I'd say do what you love, you will bring a passion to it that is meaningful to you. I haven't seen much difference between mechanical and electrical engineers in terms of job security or pay.

Good engineers will learn what is needed outside of their discipline to see how their equipment works. For example, an electrical breaker is a mechanical device. Its mechanics affect how it performs electrically. This will come with time. I have learned a lot about electrical systems, pumps don't work without motors!

actually ee is broader. it can have health applications such as batteries for the pacemakers to working with power stations. if you look around, everything is powered by electricity and you need ee for power.

POWER is going to be the Key important factor in time to come.hence go ahead powerfully.

Dear pa,

Thank you, am also fine like you then dear am also one 22years experienced power electronics engg.

see really good please do not worry ALL THE BEST.

I'm a freshmen EE student and i personally love Power engineering. I come from an average family and i would like to know if Power Engineering holds a good future. Everyone, including my family, keeps on telling me to major in Mechanical Engineering because its broader and has a better future. Mechanical is great but im more into Power. I can major in Mechanical and finish some of the Power classes at the sane time but i dont think that's a good idea. Can anybody please give me some good advice. Thank you
