Does a cylinder have corners?

Absolutely. Cylinders have a right angle top and bottom

ChrisFix the non-mechanic is looking at the top of a piston which has corners on the top and bottom.

HI, tho a cylinder does NOT have corners because it is round the flat of the top and bottom could be considered corners I suppose.

good luck

Depending on the usage, and by whom, it could be describing the area above the piston when it is at the top, at the edge of the combustion chamber, it would be telling the hearer that, say, "carbon was built up in the corner" of the combustion chamber.

meaning it will not be swept away without chemical treating or teardown to clean.

It would be considered an industry term, not a literal term for J.Q.P.

So your question creates questions, like who said it, about what, and since you asked in cars and transportation, do you mean an engine cylinder?

And what part of the world, or country are you located ?

"Smokey" would know exactly what you meant.

Cylinders dont have corners but they can have edged in them. Here is a view into an engine so you can see the cyliners (in this case, an engine that had a headgasket leak and blew up):

Cylinders have no corners. even if you want to get anal abt it the top and bottom of a cylinder. They are not corners.

Yes, four of them.

The top and bottom circles of the cylinder X Pi on each.

no cylindrical means round

No, there is not. But, they do have edges.
