Take the battery back where you bought it. Ask for a free 15 second battery load test to see what the reserve amperage capacity is. Amperage spins starter motors not voltage.
There is an outside chance something in the electrical system is causing the battery to discharge. The dealer of the car or good private mechanic should remove each fuse one at a time and check for closed circuits.
maybe, they loose a little everyday
plus a car is never really "off"
power to you clock, maybe you have an alarm, some power is always being used even when parked
Just get a jump start and let the alternator charge the battery and case closed. Next time disconnect the ground wire from the battery if it is going to sit for a long time.
It's unlucky if after just eight weeks we get goat battery and it won't charge.
I am assuming we have tried a slow trickle charge over 24 hours? If this fails to charge..? Then odds are battery has sulpha tend plates due to low charge state.
Just a stab in dark here but assuming we replaced battery before as it too failed! Then is our alternator ok?
Its fairly common alright - the energy in the battery will eventually discharge & with no alternator running it wont be charged back again.
A new battery should start even idle for 2 months.
I got a new battery drove my car a few times then didnt start it for 2 months. Is it normal for car battery to die if you dont start the car for a while? I know I didnt leave any lights on or anything.
