Distance formula? Help?

I'm trying to figure out the distance between (5,-7) and (5,3), I get 10 but says I'm wrong?

Not sure what you mean by "it gives me two blanks," but maybe they're looking for the vector components of the distance? In which case put a 0 in the first blank and a 10 in the second blank?

10 is the correct answer as sqrt(1) = 1

They are at the same X coordinate - add 7 to the Y of each 5,0 and 5,10. 10 as an answer seems good to me - what did the book/machine say 11?

It is 10 with the coordinates you gave.

Are you sure you have the right signs on all the x and y points?

10 is right answer.
