Depends on the circumstances and how far the person had to travel to get to you.
It could be a blatant rip-off or it could have been average price.
it was 3:30
Depends on where and when..
2am? Great price
2pm at the mall? That sounds a little high
Guess the auto club would have been cheaper.
It sure sounds like a lot. I'll bet they didn't tell you the price over the phone, did they? You should get AAA. They probably would have done it for much cheaper, maybe even for free.
If you had taken the VIN code to the dealer of your car's parts counter they could have cut you as many keys as you would have want for less than $25.00
Was it worth $150 to you? Some places charge based upon the VALUE of the repair more than the ACTUAL cost of repair. How bad do you want access to your car. Is it cheaper to pay $150 for the locksmith or $300 for a new window. I always carry a spare key with me in case I do something forgetful like locking my keys in the vehicle (I did that once - but had a spare key).
Business owners have a lot of overhead driven by the government. They pay the full 15% of their SS taxes, local, state & federal income taxes, license fees, vehicle fees (registration and insurance), equipment & maintenance fees, and a lot of other fees and taxes before they can pay themselves. Some of these taxes and fees have to be paid whether they are generating income or not. So that "idle" time has to be included as part of the cost. But too much idle time means they'll be out of business very shortly.
i called someone to come and unlock the door of my car and they charged me 150$ it was worth paying that much???
