Cost of putting 4x4 in my truck?

Thousands. A 4X4 tuck is designed and built as a 4X4 from the factory. There are special parts, such as motor and transmission mounts, frame parts, radiators, pedals, gearshift levers, electronics, cables, linkages, axles, transfer cases, all kinds of parts that are specific to a 4X4. The labor and parts would cost a lot. It's impossible to estimate here, but I can assure you that it would be off the charts. Like everyone says, if you want a 4X4, buy one that came from the factory. Otherwise, don't start throwing money down the toilet.

$15

it will cost WAY more than the truck is worth,...sell it and get an already 4 x 4

you will have to buy a 4x4 truck so you can change all the parts.

from the front end all the way to the rear end.

It's not really a viable option. You could trade your truck in for the same year, make, model, just a four wheel drive, for 1/10th the price it would cost you to change a 2wd to a 4wd. You'd need a new front end $1500, a Transfer case $2000, front driveline $400... assuming the front axle parts are all good, there's 4 g's in just parts. Not to mention the labor. You would probably need a new transmission too, or at the very least, part of the case, and/or an adapter. There's another $500. It would be a nightmare converting it.

I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 sport 5.9L. Im not looking to get rid of my truck. Im just curious as to what it would cost. If I were to have someone I know do it vs a shop? Also what is required to get this done
