Car won't turn over and white smoke?

As it wouldn't turn over, and white smoke came from under the bonnet, this could mean that something has shorted out, and the white smoke is actually smoke from wires etc melting together.

Hi as suggested by evelyn that is the best way get to a vauxhall dealer. they will come and pick it up.

this white smoke could be just condensation due to water in the exhaust system.

I've got a good idea. Lift the hood and look for the white smoke and then write a question that details what and where the smoke is coming from. You checked the oil and water, wow, that helps.

White smoke from the exhaust is water and is steam. White smoke under the bonnet is a water leak somewhere getting hot. If it is continuous from the exhaust then it is the head gasket leaking. A little in the morning may be just condensation in the exhaust.

White smoke from the exhaust or actually under the bonnet?

Under the bonnet would potentially mean a fire. If this is the case disconnect the battery and leave WELL alone.

If you mean the exhaust this could be a lot of things. You need a little more information. Petrol or Diesel for instance?

White smoke from your tail pipe is a failed head gasket, don't try to start it any more, get your car to a qualified mechanic soon.

From that info, get it towed to a garage. Until you know for sure that something isn't burning under there don't even try and start it.

Cadillac converter?

Hi,

So I have a vauxhall zafira, it was fine all day then we last went to start it, it wouldn't turn over at all, the lights came on but nothing else, then after a few turns of the key, white smoke started coming from the engine? It only lasted a few seconds and happens every time you turn the key a couple times. Checked the oil and water, both were fine.

Any ideas?

Thank you :)
