Car smoking a little, Advise?

You have a small coolant leak.......coolant is being blown-on or running down the hose to the engine and turning into steam.

Could be a bad clamp or hose . . . . . or radiator.

Please let us know what it turns out to be so we'll know if our guesses were correct !

Is it smoke? or steam? does your cooling fan come on and cycle?

Low coolant level?

Your mechanic or technician, whichever, will need to verify the problem. Run tests, and write an estimate. Then you can be sure he is working on what you are trying to fix, or if you have more than one problem, like a coolant leak and valve seals, or valve cover, or what have you.

So your at work on the internet asking a lot of people who don't know and are just guessing and the car is at a place where they do know. You need a check up from the neck up.

I thought that too. But, here in Memphis it was not that cold out this morning. It was much cooler out a week or so ago and it did not do this.

you sure it is smoke that was coming out. or was it just steam from the change in temp.

So I pull up to work and notice that my car is smoking a little. Not a lot, but noticable. My temp gauge is fine. I have a watery substance around the hose going into the radiator and a small puddle under the car. I let it sit for about an hour then I drive it a few miles down the road to a a mechanic, dropped it off and they will look at it.. Temp gage did not move, no smoke. no red warning lights came on.... Anyone know what may be going on?
