For shaking - First thing to check is the PCV valve, sometimes that can get stuck and cause it to idle rough. Then check the vacuum lines going to the PCV valve, or anywhere really, for a vacuum leak.
For Jumps - Tranny fluid is low or the gears r starting to slip. Get a bottle of Lucas oil transmission stop slip. It will help out, but have it checked first and sometimes the power steering will squeak. But I would have the belt replaced.

If it jerks too much it might be the throw out bearing on the clutch.
Also, could also be that your injectors are getting clogged.
Hi as you are a female the most likely cause is trying to drive it in too high a gear for the speed you are going small cars need to be running engine at above 1200 rpm.
From that description it could be lots of things from serious engine damage to a hole in the exhaust.
Take it to a garage.
Engine brackets loose, give it a few miles and your bonet is going to go bang and you wont exist anymore
i have a 2003 clio that shakes when in idle and jumps slightly when driving in low gears. anyone have any ideas what this could be?
