Car rocker panels be glued on car?

I advice grinding down, welding where needed, primer and paint. Then you don't need no glue

I have a 2000 Buick Century that looks good except for rocker panels. I am getting small holes at places down there. I am not sure the holes are too big to pass state inspection. I see places adverise...

If you have rust eating through the body work on your car, then just covering up the holes won't fix the problem, it will only make it worse. Your phony stick-on trim might be enough to get you through another inspection, but a14-year-old Buick is probably not worth saving, so if it won't pass a safety inspection, then it's time to start looking for a newer car.

Thing I would worry about is what else is rusting under there? If the panels are rusting out, the body of the vehicle probably is too. Sticking a patch over rust is seldom a smart idea.

HI, If you wanted to cut all the rust out and clean up, prep, and seal. Then glue the panel over it and prep and paint it up. It should work OK for quite a while.. use a good 3M glue.

good luck

I see places adverise online for pieces to glue over rocker panels. These cost around $75 for each side and I could replace it myself. I live where salt is needed in winter to clear roads. Should I consider trying to make my rocker panels look good by buying these glued on rocker panels or will they never hold up and stay on?
