The alternator should have started charging it unless the alternator went bad too meaning it is not charging the battery and while driving the vehicle you will notice lights dimming and then car dying dues to dead battery. At autozone I believe they can test both battery and alternators but take the battery first . Most cases the alternator will need to be on the car and running for most to test it.
Car alternators are for trickle charging only. When you jump start ur car, that doesn't mean your battery is gonna be fully charged. So you need to take your car battery for a full recharge. Also you can invest for a trickle charger if you don't use car for a long period of time.
Battery cells shorted out. You have a dead battery. Prove it to yourself by taking the 12 volt battery to any store that sells new ones other than Auto Zone. Ask for a free 15 secons battery load test to see what the reserve amperage capacity is. Amperage spins starter motors not voltage.
I would have driven the car out the highway on the way to my dealer and see if I could have gotten a charge in it. Then I would have the dealer check the battery when I stopped so I wouldn't be stranded. You didn't give your battery a chance to recharge. It isn't automatic. . .
Hey uh, I think I've figured out your problem. You're battery is far too small. You said you're using a AAA battery? I would think at least a couple D batteries would do. Don't mention it.
Hello
After they got you going did you go for a nice long drive to charge the battery?

it could be a bad ground wire, bad battery, bad alternator, or if anything is left on like a light or something, this could be the cause.... i would go to an auto parts place and have them test your alternator and battery before anything.. as this is usually free.. then check for lights left on, loose or corroded wires.
They didn't recharge it, just jump started it. You want to get a car battery charger and charge it completely. Then you should be good. And make sure your headlights are turned off :p
an old battery and a failed alternator can do that. get it tested.
I have been gone for a month, and was not able to leave my keys to anyone. When I returned, the car would not start. I called AAA, and they jumpstarted it-which worked. However, I tried the next day and it is dead again. What could be the problem?
