It's quite possible they are correct, the system is properly gassed, not leaking and holding its pressure. However, there are other causes of poor aircon performance including failing compressor, failing condenser etc. If yours still doesn't play ball it'd be worth taking it to an aircon specialist.
Hi having had the same issue with my second landcruiser. i went through the same situation. it turned out to be the pipe work which cost over 1200 pounds. so my extended warranty which i had bought paid for itself combined with the car needing a new brake caliper.
as you see several answers bazza has given the one that suits the purpose and Evelyn has given the most sensible one.
yes when cars get old they get to be expensive.that is why some gadgets on them just give up working. my guess would be the heater matrix is the cause of your problem buried deep within the cars dashboard.would cost a fortune to replace. so not worth it on such an old car.
You often hear of this problem. Everybody wants to make a quick 'buck' re-gassing Air-con and very few of them really know what they are doing beyond that......
'Quick-Rip" or "Halfords" are the last place I would go.
There IS obviously a leak....Somewhere, and it will take a specialist to find it.
The problem is sometimes the seals on the compressor. Many people don't use their air-con all winter and when summer comes the leaks become apparent.
You need to find a specialist.......Simple as that.
Take it somewhere where they know what they're doing, but you need to be prepared to pay for it. Aircon isn't cheap to fix.
On a 10 year old car in the UK I'd do without it.
stay away from kwik fit as they dont know jack **** apart from replacing pattern parts exhausts and brakes.
My car is ten years old and its air conditioning started to blow luke warm. I took it to kwit fix. Machinic regased system and said no leak detected. After a week it blew warm and took it back then regased and the same repeated. I got a refund and went to another company who promised to put dye to fine leak. After 3hrs I was told to come for my car that they didnt detect any leak after dyeing and regasing system. The said the pressure was holding. They told me to bring it back if it blow warm air again. What could then be the problem? Pls a speciallist idea would be appreciated. Thank u in advance family.
