You may think it would be easy not to turn on the AC. Just remember that defrost option uses the compressor. I would pull the connector. Evacuate for at least a half hour.
Yes. Even if you turned on the AC, the compressor won't run because of the low pressure switch.
keep the belt off of the pump also. if you accidently turn on the ac, not having Freon in the system will underload the pump, possibly causing damage.
Yes you can drive it with the AC off. I would unplug the wire going to the AC clutch just to be safe.
I am replacing the ac compressor, dryer, filter on my truck. I have the oil for the compressor but won't be able to get the lines vacuumed or freon put in until Monday. Once it's all put back together would it be okay to drive if I kept the ac off?
