The lower ball-joint connects the lower A-frame (lower control arm) to the front spindle not the wheel.
You've seen "Bambi",yeah?
everyone has,
so that bit where Bambi goes onto the ice and the legs shoot off sideways?
Well if your ball joint comes apart your car is going to do the Bambi.
Depending on how incorrectly, anything from uneven tire wear to suspension failure resulting in a loss of control.
That would depend on how fast you happen to be going when the wheel comes off.
i was gonna say the same thing lmao. stud goes into the knuckle, lock or castle nut on top. tighten it, if using a castle nut, a new cotter pin. how do you screw that up? was the ball not pressed in right?
It could cause the suspension to bind up and possibly break
Excessive tyre wear and the car wont be safe to drive it will drive erattically.
Many cars have their camber adjusted by the balljoint. It can be nearly undriveable.
Potentially it could fail and the suspension would collapse.
.........and you would know that - since it isn't easy to incorrectly install - whoever did it is a really bad mechanic.
please advise what would happen if a lower ball joint is incorrectly fitted to front right wheel.
