i was a military engineer and you are expect to perform and meet fitness testing like other troops when in training. after that it is up to your local commander, some are fitness buffs and others are not. there is a stereotype of military mechanics not being "in shape" so some commanders take upon themselves to insure the troops have a fitness regimen.
You will have to fulfil the basic fitness requirements of all other RAF personnel.
Of course. You will need to carry lots of metal, build and carry sentries and your assault weapons
